So I got my tubes tied right after my daughter was born via C-section in September of 2009. I breastfed exclusively for 6 months & got my period right around her five-month birthday. Ever since then, my cycles have been hell! I've had the worst PMS I've ever had, every month is different as far as what I will go through. Sometime my period is short & light, other months, it's heavy and painful. Now it's a week late & my boobs hurt! Grrr! Anyone else experience these sort of changes after a tubal? Or maybe you know of someone wh has dealt with this. I hould also att that the breast soreness has happened during my mid cycle which never used to happen.
Yes, my body has not been right sinse I had that done. I suffer from the same issues.
Yeah I'm so irritated because my period is normally like clockwork & it's 9 days late! Grrrr! I know that the chance of pregnancy is like, 0.4%, so I'm not really worried about that, but I'm freakin' irritated! Don't tell me I'm gonna have an F-ed up period too!
Mine is so f-ed up.
I used to have it irregular but not as bad as I do now. I finally got mine back after not having 1 for like almost 1 year since last year I only had 2 periods. That's the year I graduated from university and had a lot of trouble with family stuff. Now it's all over the place. Another new thing, I randomly get sore breasts like a week before my period. That used to not happen. My doctor checked my hormones and she said they are pretty normal, but my vitamins are noticeably low especially my vitamin D. it's pretty low. Maybe that explains why i get very bad headaches periodically like the one i had yesterday. I don't know if it's because of that or something else.
I would def. get your hormones checked..and I'd take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side. I don't know what type of tubal you had cause there are different types however I'd check for pregnancy just in case.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to get your vitimins checked and hormones.
Good luck, it sounds so painful and annoying!
no pregnancy is out of the question for me. I'm not sexually active and never have. I have never had a tubal ligation either since i have no kids. hahahaha. In terms of periods, they are all over the place. I have yet to go to the obgyn but never have. well i don't think it's necessary for me only because i'm not active anyway.
Well, I finally got my period 11 days late. I also get the sore breasts which I never used to get. Very annoying.
I'm extremely interested in getting off of the pill and in getting sterrilised. I spoke with my doctor about it and once I explained all of my reasons, she agreed with me. I also want to have Her Option (cryoblation therapy) performed afterword. I've been researching contraception on my own for a few years in any case and have read as much as I could about all the options. I was considering Essure for a time but have since heard some really bad things about it. Adiana is similar in concept but it's failure rate is higher than Essure and it's quite new. When I left, my doctor and I had agreed to the Essure but I think now that I want to go for a regular tubal. I just need to figure out which kind, since there are various methods. For those of you who have had problems, which method of the three did you use? If it was a tubal ligation, which kind was it? I would also love to hear from those of you who have had no problems at all. Hopefully, it's okay to discuss both the benefits and the risks here.
I was never told what method was used, but from the research I've done, most often the clamping method is more widely used instead uf cauterization (burning the tubes). I too would like to hear more of others' experiences.
You're right, Brandi. Mine were tied using the clips, not cauterization. That was nine years ago, and my OBGYN said the clips are the most common method now. Apparently cauterization has more post-operative pain, which I guess isn't that surprising.
